Cinnamon Favorite Cookies

I love everything with Cinnamon, it's such a great flavour and goes well with basically anything. All kinds of food, my morning porridge, cinnamon rolls, apples pies, and these absolutely wonderful little cookies. These cookies are actually called Cinnamon Favourites, the name wasn't invented by me,  but I understand why they got their name:-). It's also perfect to bake these if you quickly want to fill your cookie yar.

Cinnamon Favourite Cookies, 40pcs
100 grams butter, room temperature
1 dl sugar
2 tbsp cinnamon powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp golden syrup (light molasses or light corn syrup will most likely work fine)
3 1/2-4 dl flour

Decoration:
2 tbsp flour
1 tsp cinnamon powder

Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees C.

Combine butter, sugar and cinnamon powder until smooth. Add baking powder, syrup and flour and work to a dough.

Divide the dough into 3, and shape to finger thick lenghts. Place the lengths onto a oven papered covered baking plate and flatten them a little bit with your hand.

Mix sugar and cinnamon powder and sprinkle on top of your cookie lenghts. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes. Cut sideways into small cookies.

Enjoy!

  2. I'm also a big fan of cinnamon! In fact, we visited Stockholm just recently (we have family living there) and I couldn't resist buying a large 210g bottle of ground cinnamon (SantaMaria brand). I've never seen such large bottles of ground cinnamon before! I guess the Swedes are big fans of this lovely spice :-)

Yes, we Swedes do love our cinnamon:-)I always keep a large bottle at home, cause it's an easy way to add a nice flavour to a simple cookie or pie:-)

  5. This recipe sounds great, however I have a small question. It calls for 1 Tbsp. of syrup. What type, please? Honey, maple, molasses, or does it not really matter - any type would do? Thanks. Guy

    1. Hi Guy,

I think the most appropriate one would be to use light molasses syrup or light corn syrup. Or if you have an IKEA close by, you can buy golden syrup called "Ljus Sirap" :-). But I think u can use any of the other to and it will be equally delicious:-)
