I'm going to London!

This weekend I will go to London with my boyfriend for a reunion with some of my friends from university. Some of us will fly in from different cities in Europe and some are living in London. I'm really looking forward to see them all again, even though I was in London just a few weeks back and met some of them:-). I really love London, it's an amazing city!!

I'd love to go to the Borough Market while in London, they have a large number of foods stalls with everything you can imagine...and a little bit more. It's a paradise for a foodie like me! :-)

I will also definitely visit some of my favourite cafés and bakeries, such as The Hummingbird Bakery. Their specialty are cupcakes, but the cakes and brownies are also divine! And I'm not the only one who likes their sweet things as it's often a very long queue outside the shop, especially on Friday afternoons.

Their cheesecake brownies is one of my favourites!

Another favourite worth mentioning is Ottolenghi who offers both food and desserts based on the Mediterranean cuisine. They don't use preservatives, colourings and mostly buy local produce.

When I return, I'll hope to have some mouthwatering pics to share with you along with lots of inspirational recipes!

I always hear fantastic things about the Hummingbird Bakery, but I've never got round to actually visiting it myself. Everyone always says they had to queue but no one ever complains about it, which must say something about how good the cupcakes are.

In fact, there are a lot of places in London that I want to go to (Including Borough Market, as it happens) but I always find that I run out of time. London's just like that; no matter how long you have there, there's always something you wanted to do that you didn't get to do. Of course, it doesn't help much that I always make time for Covent Garden, even if that means I don't have time for something new. I don't feel like I've been to London unless I go to Covent Garden. I love the atmosphere there, it's so busy and bustling yet still friendly. It's not the kind of busy that would knock you over without a second thought, like the kind you might find on Oxford Street, for example. My mum and I had been talking for ages about having a weekend in Covent Garden and the December before last, we just booked ourselves into London serviced apartments and had that weekend. And we came home feeling like we'd had a week's holiday. Covent Garden really is at its best at Christmas.
